writing is a process and we are all growing daily in writing skills. students will be revising and editing in order to better improve their writing skills. this is normal for everyone... we write, we revise, we write, we revise... it is a process.

Brainstorming: Brainstorming and sources will be stored on the blog so that they can be accessed at a later date to gather information and complete the annotated bibliography.

Students in this class will be using their writing notebooks everyday for many different uses. We write for 10 minutes every class period using the LINK ABOVE (Writer's Notebook Bingo Cards,) in order to expand on our writing skills and get variety in our writing in class. We will be taking Common Core National Standards and expanding on these skills in our writing notebook. The Pre A.P. Program we are working with allows these skills to be scaffolded on to build up to taking A.P. classes in 7th, 8th, and high school A.P. courses.

Students are to complete a Double-Entry Journal for the novel, Holes, in order to reflect on the text, relate to the text, give and opinion, and ask a question about the text. These points will be added in the gradebook as a Double-Entry Journal.

In the student journals, we are writing for 10 minutes a day using the Bingo Cards at the top of the page. Students will share and revise for grammar errors, parallel structure, details, quotations, and diction. Writing is a process and should be practived everyday in order to grow as a writer. We are currently writing 10 minutes a day and working on several formal essays for the class.
